Post Form 300A from February 1 to April 30. It must be certified by a company executive. Establishments meeting OSHA’s size/industry criteria must also submit electronically via the ITA (generally by March 2).
Who has to keep an OSHA 300 log?
Under OSHA’s recordkeeping rule (29 CFR 1904), most employers with more than 10 employees must record work-related injuries and illnesses on the OSHA Form 300, unless their industry is in a partially exempt low-hazard group (listed in Appendix A to Subpart B). A case is recordable if it is work-related and results in death, days away from work, restricted work or job transfer, medical treatment beyond first aid, loss of consciousness, or a significant diagnosed injury or illness. Each February 1, you must certify and post the Form 300A annual summary — the totals from your 300 log for the prior year — in a visible location, and keep it posted through April 30. Establishments in certain size and industry categories must also submit their data electronically to OSHA through the Injury Tracking Application (ITA), generally by March 2. Keep records for five years. This tool helps you build and total the log; always check osha.gov for the current rule and your obligations.
